The Reconciled Fathers Ministry is preparing a new book to be called: My Father Was My hero based in part on the personal testimony (Hero) of the founder, Akili Kumasi.
This book will feature real and personal stories from men and women, boys and girls about their fathers.
The stories can be about good or bad experiences that tell us something about the type of father you had or about specific experiences you had with your father.
All stories will be reviewed and responded to. We are looking for stories that really paint a picture, that describes your experience in a way that others will know and feel what you felt.
No story is too short. No story is too painful. No story is too silly. But all stories must be true.
We prefer stories about fathers who did not live with their children or were separated for at least a short period of time:
what was it like not living with your father?
what was visitation like - going back and forth - did your father show up on time to pick you up?
what was it like not having your father at all - or very little?
if you saw your father on a regular basis or semi-regular basis - sometimes he was there and sometimes not - what was it like not to have a caring father on a daily basis?
how were you told that your parents were separating or divorcing, were you told at all?
if your parents were never together, what was that like?
All stories will be kept confidential. No names will be revealed.
